Giving Back

Cynthia Wendo plays a vital and multifaceted role at Lifesong Kenya, an organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable boys through its Halfway House in Kajiado County. While her contributions span several areas, she is perhaps best known as the dedicated Chase Car Driver during Lifesong Kenya’s flagship Half Way Cycle annual fundraising events.

The Half Way Cycle is more than a cycling event—it is a movement that raises critical funds to sustain Lifesong Kenya’s programs. Cynthia’s role as chase car driver is essential to its success:
  • Shielding and Guiding Cyclists: She ensures the safety of every participant, navigating routes and providing a protective presence throughout the journey.
  • Welfare Coordinator: Cynthia takes care of cyclists’ needs during the event, ensuring they stay hydrated, energized, and supported from start to finish.
  • Logistics Mastermind: Behind the scenes, she coordinates the complex logistics that keep the event running smoothly, from supply management to real-time problem-solving on the road.
Cynthia’s contributions extend far beyond the cycling route. She is actively involved in:
  • Communication Strategy: Helping shape how Lifesong Kenya shares its story, engages supporters, and amplifies its mission across channels.
  • Fundraising: Supporting efforts to secure the resources needed to transform the lives of vulnerable boys.

A Nurturing Presence

At Lifesong Kenya’s Halfway House, boys who have experienced brokenness and fatherlessness are searching for guidance and a sense of belonging.

While the organization provides strong male mentorship and father-figures, Cynthia’s presence fills a equally critical need—she offers the boys a nurturing, motherly figure. Her warmth, care, and consistent support provide emotional safety and a reminder that they are valued, seen, and loved.

In a space where healing happens through relationships, Cynthia Wendo embodies the compassion and dedication that make Lifesong Kenya’s mission possible. She is not just a driver, strategist, or fundraiser—she is a beacon of hope for boys learning to rewrite their stories.
