Raised to Exalt Christ
As a Gospel Worship Minister, Cynthia Wendo is anchored in exalting Jesus Christ through spiritually grounded worship. Her passion is to lead believers into a deeper knowledge of Who God is. She does this by strengthening faith in the Everlasting God through sound, Scripture-inspired songs.
Beyond music, Cynthia is a Mandarin Chinese Lecturer and a Cross Cultural Communications Consultant. It is a background that enriches her lyrical depth, cross-cultural outlook and clarity of message.
She is married to Hawi James Ouma, a Co-Active Coach, who supports her calling and ministry. Together, they run Lifesong Kenya, an organization that provides healing and restoration to boys in Kenya.
Early Life and Ministry Formation
Cynthia’s journey in music began in her teenage years, singing in choir alongside her mother, who played a significant role as both a spiritual and musical mentor. This early foundation shaped her love for worship and congregational ministry.
While studying at the University of Nairobi, Cynthia became actively involved in SALT, Mamlaka Hill Chapel, where her spiritual journey was nurtured. She is currently a Worship Leader at CITAM Woodley, where she continues to minister, grow spiritually and disciple others through worship.
Music Career
Cynthia Wendo officially launched her recording career with the release of her debut single “You Reign” (2018). This was followed by a series of worship songs that have resonated with believers both locally and internationally:

Her music is characterized by strong biblical themes, reverence, and declarations of faith, often drawing directly from Scripture and personal encounters with God.
Ministry Focus and Vision
In 2019, Cynthia was part of the Sinach United Worshippers during Sinach’s Kenya tour. It is an incredible experience that broadened her exposure to global worship ministry.
Cynthia has also served as a background vocalist and worship leader under Mercy Masika’s Salt and Light Ministry, contributing to both live worship experiences and ministry events.
On 22 November 2024, Cynthia recorded her first live worship project titled “The Stirring”, a powerful live recording centered on faith in God, His power, and spiritual awakening. The project marked a significant milestone in her worship ministry and reflects her growth as a worship leader and minister.
Cynthia Wendo’s ministry is devoted to raising authentic worshippers, releasing Scripture-based worship songs, and using music as a tool for teaching, encouragement, and spiritual renewal. Her vision is to see Jesus Christ exalted in this generation and beyond, through worship that is theologically sound, spiritually impactful, and culturally relevant.
Her devotion to supporting others goes a long way to show there is more about Cynthia beyond worship ministry.
