Recording The Stirring Live Album was not only an incredible milestone for Cynthia Wendo, it was also the product of absolute faith. Being her first live recording, it was birthed by fervent prayers from her friends and community. Like most great things the idea sprung from a tiny mustard seed. Cynthia and her husband, Hawi James Ouma and Kevin Blackman, their friend, were driving on a rainy night when Cynthia got the idea.
“I would like to do a live recording in the month of November this year,” she said. “I am thinking of doing it on November 22!” she added.
As the three of them drove through the rain, Cynthia continued to share her idea. All of a sudden, her warm enthusiasm engulfed the car. Cynthia sang some of the songs she wanted to include in her live recording. “What do you guys think?” she asked.
“You can do it,” Kevin replied.
“You can count on our support,” James added.
“When waiting for a miracle from God, the process itself holds beauty and is part of the miracle. The miracle is not solely the event but also the journey.”

Exercising Absolute Faith
Cynthia begun mobilizing resources by teaching extra students, doing translation work and having absolute faith in God’s divine provision. She soon got a few of her friends together and formed a band. Everything started gathering steam. At the same time, her husband was also going through his own journey of absolute faith. After receiving a full scholarship to undergo Co-Active Leadership Program in Sitges Spain, James needed air tickets for the six trips, to and from Spain.
By the time The Stirring Live Recording was only two week away, Cynthia did not have a clue where she was going to get money for the recording. However, she paid for deposit for the Dennis White Hall at CITAM Valley Road and continued exercising absolute faith in God.
“I know God is going to come through for me,” Cynthia kept saying, “I am His favourite daughter!”
“On the day of the recording, I was frustrated by James’ absence,” Cynthia recalls. “I kept looking around but he wasn’t there. I felt devastated by his absence! But, I did not relent or give up. I knew everything was alright.
“When James arrived, I was very happy and relieved,” Cynthia adds.
Final Thoughts
By the time Cynthia started singing the first song, she knew it had taken God’s divine intervention. She had shown absolute faith in God and God had rewarded her. She looked into the crowd and saw her friends, colleagues from CITAM Woodley Music Team, Reverend Juliet Mahugu and her husband. God showed He is a rewarder to those who deligently seek and trust Him.
